Learn: Braided Rag Rugs with Ilka White

This braiding technique weaves in as you go so there is no stitching up required afterwards. Creating beautiful and unique floor coverings are possible using contrasting colours, or you can blend patterned rags for a ‘carpet of flowers’. Gather your own material to recycle.

ONLINE TWO-PART WORKSHOP
Session 1: Saturday 28 November 2020 12.30 - 3.30 pm AEST
Introduction and braiding basics. 
Session 2: Saturday 5 December 2020 12.30 - 3.30 pm AEST
Further design possibilities, tricky bits and rug finishing 

Participants will need to provide their own:
1. Water bottle, snacks and a cuppa to keep you going.
2. Clean, worn-out cloth you would like to cut into rags for your rug.
3. Fabric scissors
4. A clipboard (or a magazine and large bulldog clip) to anchor your braiding.
5. A slender Crochet hook (ideal size is 2, 3, or 4mm)  – OR a handful of safety pins.
6. A note pad and pen.
7. If you have examples of recycled rag rugs in your possession or pictures, have them near you for show and tell.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
(1) All bookings are Non-Refundable
(2) All Bookings are Transferable to a second party in the event that the customer is unable to attend the workshop; such transfers must be requested 24 hours prior to the Workshop for desired transfers to be eligible.
(3) If you cannot attend the workshop, you may transfer to another class within 12 months, but 2 weeks notice must be given for this transfer, and only one transfer may occur.
(4) In the rare event that the ATW is required to cancel a workshop the customer will receive either a full refund or the opportunity to transfer said booking to another workshop of even value within 12 months of said cancellation.
(5) Cancellations may be advised by ATW at any time prior to the workshop.
(6) ATW reserves the right to use any images taken at the workshops for Social Media & Advertising, if you wish for images not to be shared please let us know at your workshop. 
(7) In the event that you do not agree with the above Terms & Conditions you may request a full refund within 48 hours of even date of receipt of this booking confirmation.
