Talking Threads | Georgia Brunmayr, Nadia Hernández, Cara Johnson, Matthew Lucas

Registration is closed for this event
Bringing together ATW artist in residence, Cara Johnson; as well as Craft exhibiting artists, Georgia Brunmayr and Nadia Hernández, the conversation will consider textile practice across the wearable, functional and the sculptural as lead by textile enthusiast, and Craft Chair, Matthew Lucas. *Please note, by registering to attend this event you will be automatically signed up to our mailing list.*

Traditionally (and persistently) been sidelined by art history, due to its presumed domestic and feminine connotations, textile practice is enduring and ubiquitous in all its diversity.

For this panel discussion, Craft and the Australian Tapestry Workshop have come together to invite three contemporary artists approaching textile materials, practices and processes in different ways to discuss its poetic and political potential and power.

Talking Threads is co-presented by Craft Victoria and the Australian Tapestry Workshop as part of Craft Contemporary 2023.
